Safeguarding At Hanslope School

Hanslope Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the health, safety and well-being of every child. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. Our aim is for children to enjoy their time as pupils in this school. We want to work in partnership with you to help your child achieve their full potential and make a positive contribution.

To promote a safe environment for pupils, our selection and recruitment policy includes all checks on staff and regular volunteers’ suitability, including Disclosure and Barring Service checks, in accordance with current legislation.

We have designated Persons for Child Protection including: Mr Ryan Brown, who is the Headteacher; Mrs Lisa Lawrence, the Deputy Headteacher; and Mrs Harriet Lovegood, the assistant head.

All staff receive regular training in all aspects of Safeguarding including PREVENT, FGM, e-safety, anti-bullying and first aid as required.

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and we are committed to ensuring that all children are safe and feel safe, ensuring that children, parents, carers and staff are able to talk about safeguarding concerns and feel they are listened to and ensuring that all staff and volunteers are aware and understand the safeguarding procedures, including what to do if they suspect a child may be experiencing, or be at risk of harm.

The procedures that we follow have been laid down by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board, and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy in line with this for the safety of all.
