Governors: Who's who?

We are proud and privileged to have such a committed and hard-working Governing Body who work in conjunction with the Headteacher, offering a strategic role in respect of the development of the school. Meetings are held throughout the course of the school year; sometimes we meet as a whole Governing Body, but we also work within different committees, focussing on specific aspects of school life. The committees are as follows:

  1. Curriculum Committee
  2. Finance Committee
  3. Premises Committee
  4. PPPD Committee (Pupils, Parents, Personnel and Discipline)

Our current members are as follows:

Governor Profiles

Nigel Stacey

My association with Hanslope School began when my daughters Alice and Clare attended the school. I became involved with the school through the PTA and fund raising, and then in 1995 became a Parent Governor and have remained ever since! I was very grateful for the seeds sown in both my daughter’s education and how it helped them develop in those early years into who they now are and what they have been able to achieve. I still derive great pride and pleasure when I visit the school from the wonderful ethos the school has and helping the children on the first rung of their educational ladder.

Roger Kent

Living in the village for over 22 years means both my son and daughter benefited from attending the school which my whole family holds in high regard.   I joined the board as a community Governor in June 2010 having only limited knowledge of how the system works.  I now better understand the need for a well performing board and just how much support it can offer the school.  I’m hoping that my career experiences, most recently in the arena of public protection, will help me become an effective member of what is obviously a committed and forward thinking team.

Carol Hayward

I have served on the Governing Body since April 2007 as a Community Governor. Having retired from a career of some 36 years as a teacher, Deputy Head and finally Headteacher, I thoroughly enjoy being able to support my local school in this way. I am also able to support as a Volunteer helper with the younger classes on a weekly basis assisting with literacy and numeracy.

Nicolette Green

I have been a parent governor since March 2009. With two children at the school I can usually be found in one playground or the other.  My eldest child is in Key Stage 2, the middle child is in Key Stage 1 the youngest will also be joining the school in a few years.  I have always lived in the area with the past 10 years in Hanslope.  I am a busy mum at home and in recent years have been closely involved in Hanslope Pre-school, having been on the committee in various roles since 2004.  I am very excited and honoured to now be a part of Hanslope School.  Previously I have owned and managed a children’s nursery and for many years I was a Regional Designer for a national housebuilder.  I want to use all of my experiences to ensure that Hanslope School continues to be a great place for children to learn and a happy and fun place to be.
